The City of Portsmouth has opened the seating area and main stage at Union Bank & Trust Pavilion for shows, beginning with the Avett Brothers on Friday, July 20.

With the roof removed, guests will enjoy an under-the-stars experience. Additional upcoming shows include:

The Slightly Stoopid's Schools Out For Summer tour with special guests Stick Figure and Pepper scheduled at Union Bank & Trust Pavilion on Friday, July 13 will be held in the venue's waterfront plaza. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.

The change within the venue is a result of ongoing work by the City of Portsmouth.

All tickets previously purchased for the show will be honored.


UPDATE: June 21, 2018

The Rebelution, Stephen Marley, Common Kings, Zion I and DJ Mackle concert scheduled at Union Bank & Trust Pavilion has been moved to Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach.

The concert's date and time stay the same: Saturday, June 30. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m.

The change of venues is a result of ongoing work by the City of Portsmouth to address structural concerns with the pavilion's roof.

Tickets previously purchased for the Portsmouth show will be honored at the Virginia Beach location. Parking is free for this concert.

General Admission tickets are on sale at all Ticketmaster locations, charge by phone at 800.745.3000 or online at ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 day of show. There is a $3 discount with military ID.

Anyone wishing a refund for this show must return tickets at the location of purchase, up to the day of the concert.

All other scheduled Union Bank & Trust Pavilion concerts are planned to remain in Portsmouth, subject to progress of the City's work on the pavilion's roof. UPDATE: May 19, 2018

Upcoming concerts by Brian McKnight and Chrisette Michele, Blackberry Smoke and JJ Grey & Mofro, and 1964 The Tribute in Union Bank & Trust Pavilion have been changed. The changes are a result of the City's need to address structural problems with the venue's roof.

The Brian McKnight 4, Chrisette Michele and K'BANA BLAQ concert will still be held at the Union Bank & Trust Pavilion, but has moved to July 22. The show begins at 7:30 p.m., and gates open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets purchased for the May 26 show will be honored July 22, no exchange necessary.

Blackberry Smoke, JJ Grey & Mofro will perform on the originally scheduled date of Friday, June 15 in the Union Bank & Trust Pavilion waterfront plaza. The show begins at 7 p.m., and gates open at 6 p.m. All tickets will be honored.

1964 The Tribute has been rescheduled to Friday, July 27 in Union Bank & Trust Pavilion. The show begins at 8 p.m., and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets purchased for the June 16 show will be honored July 27, no exchange necessary.

All tickets previously purchased will be honored. Those not able to attend rescheduled dates may request refunds at the point of purchase up to the concert date.

George Clinton, Primus & Mastodon, Vance Joy and Alabama concerts scheduled at Union Bank & Trust Pavilion have been changed due to unforeseen structural concerns with the venue’s roof that the city’s engineers are currently assessing.


“May The Funk Be With You” featuring George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic is rescheduled to Sunday, Aug. 12 in Union Bank & Trust Pavilion. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m. All tickets purchased will be honored.


Primus, Mastodon and All Them Witches will perform in Chrysler Hall. The date and time stay the same: Friday, May 18. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show is 7 p.m. All tickets purchased will be honored.


The Vance Joy concert for Saturday, May 19 is cancelled. Tickets purchased for the Vance Joy show via ticketmaster.com will automatically be credited to customer’s accounts.


Alabama with special guests Montgomery Gentry will perform in the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater at Virginia Beach. The date and time stay the same: Sunday, May 20. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. All tickets purchased will be honored and seating locations will be similar to Union Bank & Trust Pavilion.


Anyone wishing for a refund for these shows may return to the location of purchase, prior to performance date.
